About

Akron Art Museum's Camp Creative is a series of themed drop-in afternoons at the museum. Each session invites kids to explore, learn, and play through guided creation stations and themed activities based on a weekly topic. The 2026 summer line-up runs from July through August, 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the museum.

2026 Schedule:

• July 1 — Animal Day. Imaginative fun in the sun centered on our world's furry friends and cool creatures. The Akron Zoo joins onsite for an animal encounter with families.

• July 15 — Around the World. Creation stations and themed activities centered around art techniques used in different areas of our world.

• August 5 — All About Akron. Activities featuring various community organizations and unique, must-sees of Akron. Community partners onsite include Weathervane, Stan Hywet, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Summit Metroparks, and more.

• August 19 — Back to School Celebration. Kick off the start of the school year at our final Camp Creative day of the summer.
