About
Echo Hill Camp offers a unique camping experience on Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Our 70-acre waterfront campus is at the heart of Bloomingneck Farm, a 350-acre working Maryland Century Farm owned by the Harris family. The camp consists of 150 campers ages 7-16 each session, creating a diverse community with campers and staff from all over the U.S.A. and 5+ countries. Echo Hill Camp is an environment where campers can foster incredible and worthwhile friendships, no matter the time length or how many summers they have been with us.
Our camp sessions are designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment where campers can explore, learn, and grow. We offer a variety of activities including waterskiing, sailing, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, swamp walks, and our Adventure Course. Campers will experience the maximum benefit from programming and activities while also enjoying an intimate camp setting, where people truly know each other.
Echo Hill Camp is committed to the highest standards of health and medical care. At least one registered nurse is on duty 24 hours a day. The camp is 25 minutes from local emergency services and 30 minutes from a full-service hospital. Multiple AEDs are located across the property for rapid response. All medications are administered by our health center staff and never kept in cabins, with the exception of rescue inhalers and diabetic supplies. Camper medications are checked-in upon arrival and securely stored to ensure safety.
Our program operates on the free choice system, meaning campers are free to choose those activities which appeal to them. All meals are prepared for campers, with plenty of vegetarian options at each meal. Campers live in large platform tents with bunk beds and mattresses. There is no electricity in the tents, so flashlights come in handy! The toilets are privy style with separate stalls for privacy. The showers and sinks are outdoors in an enclosed area with plenty of hot water, but no roof!
