The Acadia Institute of Oceanography (AIO) is a science-based summer program for ages 10–18. Students get a chance to explore Mount Desert Island while learning the basics of oceanographic science. AIO has been providing hands-on science field activities, labs, and lessons combined with summer recreation in Acadia National Park since 1975! AIO is a co-ed sleep away camp located in Seal Harbor, ME. Our program is staffed by professional educators from all around the country with specialities in marine science, geology, biology, physics, and more. We offer an Introductory Session for ages 10–12, Intermediate Sessions (two weeks) for ages 12–14, and Advanced Sessions (two weeks) for ages 15–18.
